Will's 12 Month Stats

It's been 2 weeks since we went to Will's 12 month check up but I finally have a free moment to post his stats.

Weight: 24 1/2 lbs, 69 %tile
Height: 32 in., 97 %tile
Head: 19 in., 84 %tile

Basically he's tall and skinny :)

So things he's up to:
  • He LOVES to play peek-a-boo! He plays with everyone he meets.
  • He's in size 5 diapers, hopefully he won't get much bigger because there's only one bigger size of diapers.
  • He wears size 24 month clothes.
  • He dances like crazy. Any music, anywhere he will start dancing, that includes church hymns :) I love watching his little bum wiggle!
  • He's a total mooch. Any time we're eating and he's not he comes up to us and demands a bite.
  • He loves bath time.
  • He says, "Uh-Oh", "Wow", "Da" (which means boo), and he's working on please, go, and choo-choo.
  • He waves at everyone he meets.
  • He's still a huge flirt, the ladies LOVE him.
  • He doesn't love books but I'm working on that, hopefully soon.
  • He loves to go outside and whenever the door opens, he bolts for the open door.
  • He still takes 2, 2 hours naps a day.
  • If you give him a bite of something tasty he gets really angry if you don't give him another.
  • His favorite activity is unrolling the toilet paper and saying "uh-oh" while he does it.
  • He is still such an amazing little boy and I feel SO blessed to be his mommy.

Happy, Happy Birthday, William Dear!

Yesterday, my baby, William John Ikaika McCuen turned 1! I can not believe that it has been a year since Will came into our life, already! It has been the most amazing year ever!

We had a BBQ birthday bash with family and friends to celebrate the day. Fun was had by all, especially the birthday boy. He did all of his favorite things, played with balls, played outside, played with bubbles, ate some grass, I mean some cake...., and flirted with all the girls.

I'll save all of his recent milestones for after we go to his year check up on Monday and bombard you with pictures instead.

The Birthday Boy
Will and his cousin Ella playing with Balls, his favorite thing.
My trooper of a sister came directly from the hospital after having a baby. She is such an amazing sister!
Even baby Annalise had a fun time at the party.
Will wasn't terribly interested in opening his birthday presents, he was more interested in the wrapping paper.
Will's cake was shaped like a half of a ball, his favorite thing.
At first Will was a little tentative about his cake but Stephen was persistent and Will eventually ate 3/4 of his cake.
Will decided that cake made a great shampoo.
The cake after Will was finished.
All in All I'd say Will had a Great Day!

Year-ish Pictures of Will

First of all, I can not believe my baby is almost a year old! Where has this year gone? I can't believe that a year ago I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and so ready to have a baby.

Anyway, back to the reason for this post, pictures. While we were in San Diego, I took some year-old pictures of Will. I think they turned out well, especially considering the light was fading and Will was grumpy. Here are a few of my favorites...

Family Bonding and San Diego Fun

A few weeks ago we experienced some of the worst form of family bonding ever invented! All three of us got a horrible, horrible stomach flu, at the SAME time! I won't gross you out with all the gory details but needless to say, I hope to never experience that again.

In other, more exciting and fun news, we decided to take a trip to San Diego. We really needed a break from school, work, and Provo in general. It was so nice to spend time with my family, go to the beach, and see some great friends. I even got to celebrate my birthday there.

We had a great time at the beach, Will really likes the sand.
And the seaweed.
My favorite boys in the whole wide world!
We also got to spend time with my family. My aunt and cousin that I haven't seen in a long time were in town and it was fun catching up with them.
Jordan (my brother), Bri (his wife), Will and Amber (my cousin).
Roasting marshmallows in my parents backyard.
My cute sister and niece.
The Girls.
Anne, Me, Mommy, and Brooke (She's 8 months pregnant. I, unfortunately, just look it).
Happy birthday to Me! A cake from my favorite bakery, Edelweiss, they made our wedding cake.
Pool Fun.
My little sister, Anne playing with Will in the pool.
Will is still in love with string.
We had such a great time! I also took so almost year old pictures of Will. They are super cute but I'm not done tinkering with them yet.

Yes, I am a Nerd and I Married a Nerd!

I have no illusions about my nerd status, I was raised by a nerd (my dad, mom symbolized some sense of normality in our house, well kind of) and I married a nerd (they really do make the best husbands) and our kids will have some sort of nerd-esque quality about them. I have come to terms with it and I have accepted it, all is well.

Anyway, to prepare us for the final installment of Harry Potter, Stephen and I decided to have a Harry Potter movie marathon. And what would make our movie marathon more exciting? Building Hogwarts out of Legos. I know, the perfect nerd combination. It was basically awesome!

We finished with the first half of the 7th movie the night before we went to see the final movie and I'm glad we did because I would have forgotten too much between movies. Needles to say Harry Potter 7 Part 2 was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I loved it!

Now if the previous confessions have not cemented my nerdiness then this next part should. The next day we decided we needed to take pictures of all our hard work and we needed to reenact the final battle scenes with the Lego people. Furthermore I feel compelled to share these pictures with the blogosphere, enjoy.
