"Apples"

Will has been obsessed with apples lately. We have a Dr. Seuss book called Ten Apples Up On Top and I think we read it at least 4 times a day. Since then Will has decided that all round fruit are apples. Every morning his first words to me are "apple, mommy, apple!" Which means "mommy I want some yummy fruit for breakfast." Since apples are out of season we've been eating a lot of peach "apples," nectarine "apples," and even some apricot "apples.'' I do have to say, however, I'm so glad he actually likes fruit.

Will enjoying some peach "apples." Yes, that is peach all down his front, he gets really mad if I try to cut up the peaches and make them "un-appley".

4 Years and Counting...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to the most amazing man I could have asked for. I can't believe that four years ago today we were here...
 With our family and friends...
And now we are here...
with one of these...
It has been an incredible 4 years, I can't wait to see what the next 4 years brings.
I love you forever, Stevie!

Happy Father's Day!

I am so lucky to have so many amazing men in my life. I have the best father a girl could ask for. He inspires me to be a better person and a better parent. I have incredible brothers, none of who are fathers yet but they are astounding brothers and fabulous uncles. I have an amazing father-in-law and brother-in-law who taught Stephen all he needed to know to be a daddy.

And then there is my most favorite guy in the world, Stephen. He really is the perfect man. He goes to school, works, cooks, cleans,  and helps take care of Will. He has had to be the mom and dad more times than I care to admit but he never complains. I could not ask for a better companion or a better father for Will.

One of my favorite things is listening by the door when Stephen puts Will to bed. Because he's busy with school, Stephen's rarely home when Will goes to bed, but when he is, he loves to put him to bed. I love hearing their giggling and conversation. I love listening to Stephen tell Will a bed-time story and tucking him in. I love listen to Will's little voice say, "Nigh-nigh, Daddy." And Stephen's reply of, "Good night, buddy, I love you so much."

I love how Will mirrors everything that Stephen does. Even when Stephen's at school or work. I also love that Stephen is aware of that but he doesn't need to change any behaviors because he's an amazing man already.
Happy Father's Day!!

Silly, Silly, Silly

Just in the last few weeks Will has become ridiculously silly. He walks around the house with things on his head, he makes jokes, he rides trash cans... the thing is, he's actually funny. He  not only makes me laugh but anyone else that's around us does too.  Maybe he'll be a comedian some day, who knows?

Who needs a hat when you have a Sephora bag.

Of course you sit on your raceway toy while wearing a box on your head.
In my defense, this trash can has never actually been used for trash, only for soaking  stained clothes. Will found it on the patio and decided it needed to be ridden.
Who knew trash cans could buck you off.

I love this new aspect of Will's personality. He really is my buddy and my comedian. I love him so so much!

Life as of Late

Our life as of late has been full of silliness, sun, friends and water.

Last month my brother, Ammon, and his wife, Monica, came for a visit and Will had his very first ice cream cone. He LOVED it.
He got appropriately messy...
And was rather disappointed when the cone was empty...
 The end result...

He decided he didn't want to finish the cone after the ice cream was gone so he decided to share his nasty cone with a random stranger. That's my boy, so nice to share with others!

We have also been having a blast with the pool and splash pad out in the quad with our friends.
No matter how cold the water is, Will stays in it until I turn it off. He loves it so much!
Even with a pool and a splash pad, Will still wanted to play in a puddle, silly boy!
Will and his friend, Payton, playing in the puddle.
Will loves his hat. He wears it all the time, even in the house.
Our friend, Oliver. He is SO cute!
Our friend Indee...

And her handsome little brother, Krew. They're moving away and we're going to miss them so so much!

Krew and Indee with their Grandma.
Our friends Naomi and Lucy, Will loves to play with them.
A few weeks ago Stephen and I caught the stomach flu and had to entertain Will while not moving too much. We were watching Sound of Music and Will was totally jamming to the songs...it was awesome. I actually have video of it, I'll have to post it later :)

We spend our days outside with our friends and watching, reading and talking about trains, Will's new obsession :)
